2nd Batch of Mindanao Regions Participate in PRDP Scale-Up Convergence Workshop

Date Published: February 3, 2024

Three Regions from Region 9, Region 10, and BARMM attended the second batch of the convergence workshop on January 17-19, 2023 at Apo View Hotel, Davao City.

This workshop plays an important role in identifying potential priority commodity that would be the focus of commodity hub.

The Mindanao regional commodity hub scooping will map out strategic and coordinated supply chains across Mindanao. It would also secure bigger impact investment while aligning to DA’s Agri-Industrial Growth Corridor (AIGC) Approach and NAFMIP.

The hub will also promote and support organized enterprise clusters. With this, investment forum and pitching would be much easier to conduct.

PSO Mindanao I-PLAN Component Head Elden Karl Requilme highlighted the three Cs  to sum up PRDP Scale-Up.

“With PRDP Scale-Up we will be looking at three Cs. First is for Criteria where we are going  to identify our subproject based on the guidelines provided under PRDP Scale-Up. Second C is on Champion Commodities where we want to focus on top priority commodity for the establishment of commodity hub. Next is Convergence or complementation among the keyplayers and stakeholder in the entire value chain. Lastly, is challenges in order to provide necessary intervention,” said Requilme.

The first day of the activity focused on the presentation on salient features of PRDP Scale-Up. (Joy M. Montecalvo, PSO Min)
