1st WB Review and Supervision Mission for PRDP PSO Visayas: Sitio Magtu-od to SitioVergara FMR Project Site Visit
The World Bank 1st Review and Supervision Mission team conducted a field visit in the Municipality of Toboso, Negros Occidental for the Rehabilitation of Sitio Magtu-od to Sitio Vergara Farm to Market Road (FMR) project.
In dialogue with some beneficiaries in Toboso town of Negros Occidental, the community including, teachers, students, farmers, business sectors , land owners the Indigenous People expressed high hopes that the proposed FMR will be pushed through and completed, the project will definitely boast economy, improved market access of farm products to markets outlets with reduced travel time and lesser on transport expenses.
Teachers and students would no longer delayed be delayed in attending their school classes both in elementary and high school.
For Petronilo Samson 56 years of a member of Indigenous People tribe of Ata of Calatrava said “ 16 anyos pa lang ako karon 56 anyos ko gipangandoy na nang dalana ug karon pa mahitabo kung mapa tigayon” ( It was a long dream since I was still 16 years old now I’m already 56 years old. It is only at this time the proposed Farm to Market Road will come true that if this will be pushed through).
The FMR has a total length of 4.13 km, with a PCCP width of 4.0 m and thickness of 280 mm with a shoulder width of 1.5 m. The FMR’s total estimate project cost is 47.2 M. Once implemented, 2290 (M-857; F-1233) direct beneficiaries and 448 household in the area will benefit from the project. /INFOACE PSO Visayas/RPCO 6
