WB LAUDS TURMERIC, GINGER ENTERPRISE IN CENTRAL LUZON

City of San Fernando, PAMPANGA – The Turmeric and Ginger Production, Marketing and Processing of the Samahang Kababaihan ng Capintalan Multipurpose Cooperative (SKC-MPC) located in Capintalan, Nueva Ecija was lauded by the World Bank (WB) for its relentless effort to expand their enterprise operations which resulted to a range of diversified products and increased in members over the years.

This, after strategies and approaches in the ‘new normal’ were highlighted during I-BUILD and I-REAP virtual forum and feedback session as the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) North Luzon Cluster showcased informative documentation of subprojects that displayed significant feat despite the challenges brought by the pandemic held on May 26, 2021 at the Orchids’ Garden, here.

WB Official Agnes Deshornes recognized the determination of the cooperative to reach its consumers in various areas in the region adding that digital marketing will help promote their products and heighten their exposure to a wide-range of markets.

“It was very interesting to see the result of the enterprise assessment and to see that you have very good ratings. So, congratulations to the proponent group,” Deshornes added.

As the general public is getting digital savvy due to pandemic-related changes, the WB Team also encouraged the SKC-MPC to take advantage of various media platforms in promoting their products and be motivated despite competitors in the industry.

Discourse about the ‘e-Merkado’, an initiative of the DA-PRDP North Luzon was given emphasis as it utilizes online-based marketing with the use of various channels to grasp targeted consumers and to uplift the revenue of the cooperative.

The virtual forum for the I-BUILD and I-REAP subprojects is a way to enhance engagement among the implementers and project beneficiaries allowing them to discuss in detail enterprise operations, construction works and other related issues to formulate future plans for the sustainability of the projects.
