The RPCO XI conducts a series of Philippine Rural Development Project or PRDP Scale-Up orientation for the local chief executives (LCE) in Davao region.

First stop – Province of Davao Oriental – headed by DA XI Regional Technical Director and RPCO XI Deputy Project Director Marila Corpuz. It was actively participated by Gov. Corazon Malanyaon together with the mayors and representatives of the different municipalities in the province.
After the presentations by the RPCO team on how to avail of and implement projects under the PRDP Scale-Up, Gov. Malanyaon personally facilitated the discussions during the open forum to make sure that all issues and concerns of the municipalities will be addressed.
“We should be aggressive enough in planning and preparing proposals to be able to avail of the infra and enterprise projects under PRDP,” said Gov. Malanyaon to the municipal mayors and their planning officers.
RTD Corpuz, reminded the LCEs that they should revisit the Provincial Commodity Investment Plan where all their project proposals should be aligned and submitted for approval on time.
“We have to keep the reputation of completing the projects given to us on time and with good quality,” added the governor who has been very supportive of DA special projects since the Mindanao Rural Development Program (MRDP).
The PRDP Scale-Up aims to contribute to developing the sector by improving farmers’ and fisherfolk’s access to markets and increasing income from selected agri-fishery value chains.
The LCE orientation will also be conducted by the RPCO XI in other provinces of Davao region. # (Janelle T. Flores | RPCO 11)
