The Regional Project Advisory Board 2 (RPAB 2) in its 27th business meeting on May 7, 2020, approved for endorsement to the Project Support Office (PSO) the construction of the 6.8 million pesos worth of Microbiological Testing Facility in barangay Masaya, San Agustin, Isabela.

“The Provincial Government of Isabela wishes to establish a sustainable & compliant dairy microbiological testing facility for milk. With the facility, the dairy farmers through the cooperatives can confidently offer safe and quality milk to big institutional processors and milk-based products to its consumers,” Ms. Sally Valencia, Isabela PRDP Action officer said.

“Thus, this proposed I-BUILD subproject.”

The conduct of a Physico-chemical analysis of 150,720 liters of milk coming from the different dairy farmers in San Agustin through San Agustin Dairy Cooperative (SADACO) and neighboring processing centers in the region will be achieved through the facility.

The direct beneficiaries of the project are the dairy farmers in San Agustin, members of SADACO, and its affiliated association’s members.

San Agustin, home of the cross-bred carabao popularized by the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), became known because of its Nuang Festival. It has topped other municipalities in the region in the production of dairy.

Other cooperatives and farmers in region 02 engaging in dairy business will also benefit in the establishment of the facility, which will be managed by the PCC through Dir. Franklin Rellin. (Ferdinand N Cortez, RPCO2 InfoACE Unit)
