Lanao del Sur is one of the provinces under the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) with three ongoing subprojects being implemented under the Department of Agriculture Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) with support from Local Government Units.

These subprojects include three farm-to-market roads amounting to P113 million with total kilometers of 8.96km that will support the province’s champion commodities such as abaca, banana, bangus, cacao, cassava, coconut, coffee, mangsotreen, mango, organic rice, rubber, crumb, and seaweeds.

The FMR covers the 3.8 km concreting of Barangay Pantar in Municiplaity of Piagapo worth P50 million, and construction of 2.10 km Campong Sabala to Sogod Madaya, Gannassi FMR worth 27 million. Both of these FMR are already approved by the Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) and for endorsement to National Project Coordination Office (NPCO). While the Rehabilitation of Bubong Cadapaan-Barit FMR in Municipality of Balingong with 3.06km length worth P36million has been completed in 2016 and now connects two upland barangays to highway.

The objective of this road network linking production areas with market is to increase farm utilization; increase farm household income; improve delivery of other basic services; provide opportunities for generating supplementary income from alternative non-farm income -generating project; lower transportation cost on farm products and farm inputs that provide the farmers additional savings, thus, increasing household income; and savings in transport cost and maintenance cost for the vehicles operating in the project area.

In implementing this road and other infrastructure projects, PRDP is using the Infrastructure Quality Monitoring and Durability System (IQMDS) to ensure a sound contract management and supervision, quality assurance and control, and durability of infrastructure subprojects.

Technical staff are guided on the overall quality assurance framework for PRDP, the guidelines on contract management and supervision, and the guidelines on materials testing and quality control.
