Review of subproject proposals for PRDP Scale-Up in CALABARZON, commenced

Date Published: June 6, 2023

The Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) began the review of submitted subproject proposals of local government units in CALABARZON for the DA-PRDP Scale-Up to ensure the efficient implementation of the subprojects that will be approved under the said project as it starts later this year.

The DA-PRDP Scale-Up is the expanded version of the DA-PRDP that aims to improve the efficiency of the food supply chain, ensure the availability of affordable and quality food in the market, and increase the income of farmers and fisherfolks. It targets to benefit local government units (LGU) and groups engaged in the agriculture sector, such as farmers, fisherfolk cooperatives and associations (FCAs), FCA clusters, small farmer groups, processors, and consolidators.

The DA-PRDP Project Support Office (PSO) South Luzon and the Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO) CALABARZON have already reviewed 20 proposals for infrastructure subprojects. Eighteen of these are for farm-to-market roads, and two are for potable water systems. The LGUs that submitted proposals are from Majayjay, Sta. Maria, Cavinti, and Luisiana in Laguna, Tanauan, Tingloy, Nasugbu, and Taysan in Batangas, and Mauban, Macalelon, Real, Atimonan, Padre Burgos, Mulanay, Buenavista, Lopez, General Nakar, San Narciso, San Francisco, and Candelaria, in Quezon.

The DA-PRDP RPCO CALABARZON continues to encourage LGUs and groups to submit their proposals for infrastructure and enterprise subproject proposals for the DA-PRDP Scale-Up. They vow to provide reliable and quality support to the LGUs and groups should they submit subproject proposals.
