Php421million-worth PRDP subprojects approved in Region 7

The Region 7 Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) recently approved Php421-million worth of infrastructure subprojects from the province of Bohol during its July 26, 2022 meeting at the Diamond Suites and Residences in Cebu City.

The approved subprojects consist of three (3) Double AA Abattoirs each for Tagbilaran City, Bohol, and the Municipalities of Loon and Valencia, Bohol, along with the re-approval of the Jagna Integrated Potable Water System in Jagna, Bohol.

Of the three approved AA Abattoirs, one is classified as new construction to replace Tagbilaran City’s 20-year-old obsolete abattoir, while the other two are for rehabilitation and upgrading of the unfinished municipal slaughterhouse.

On the other hand, the re-approval of the Jagna Integrated Potable Water System was necessary due to the increase of the subprojects Estimated Project Cost (EPC) from the original P140M approval last November 2021 it now rose to P233.73M.

Below is the list of the new RPAB-approved Bohol subprojects.

(i) Construction of Tagbilaran City AA, Abattoir in Purok 1, Brgy. Tiptip, Tagbilaran City, Bohol
(ii) Rehabilitation and Upgrading of Loon Abattoir in Cogon Norte, Loon, Bohol
(iii) Rehabilitation and Upgrading of Valencia Abattoir in Catug-an, Valencia, Bohol
(iv) Jagna Integrated Potable Water System in Jagna, Bohol

A total of 11, 387 combined raisers will directly benefit from the realization of the abovementioned infrastructures, aside from a significant number of meat shop owners, meat shop processors such as people’s organizations, homestays, restaurants, etc., and other institutional beneficiaries especially in adjacent municipalities with and without Locally Registered Meat Establishments (LRMEs).

Namoc of the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP), Mr. Ferdinand Yu, Chief, Agrarian Reform Office of the Department of Agrarian Reform 7 (DAR 7), Mr. Hilario J. Blanco, Project Evaluation Officer II of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-7), Engr, Joan Pitogo, Chief, Monitoring and Evaluation Section of the Department of Public Works and Highways 7 (DPWH), Roselyn Suelto, Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist of the Department of Trade and Industry VII (DTI VII), Virginia dela Fuente, Sectoral Chair, Fruits, Vegetables and Root Crops from the Regional Agri-Fishery Council (RAFC), Maria Thelya Oporto, Local Government Operation Officer VII of Department of Interior and Local Government 7(DILG 7) with the special participation of Dr. Orlando Ongsotto, Regional Technical Director for the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) Regional Technical Office 7.
