P90-M DA-PRDP agri-enterprise subprojects, turned over to 2 FCAs in Quezon

A better future awaits the virgin coconut oil and dairy cattle industry in the province of Quezon after the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project Regional Project Coordination Office Calabarzon (DA-PRDP 4A) and the local government of Quezon formally turned over two DA-PRDP enterprise subprojects to coconut and dairy farmers in Pagbilao and Sariaya, Quezon.

The said projects were the Processing and Marketing of Virgin Coconut Oil in Quezon Province worth PhP 70,525,000.10   received by the Quezon Federation and Union of Cooperatives in Pagbilao and the Establishment of Dairy Multiplier Farm worth Php 19,913,408.64 turned over to the Palcon Dairy Multipurpose Cooperative in Sariaya. These projects aim to expand and boost the farmers cooperatives and associations (FCAs) enterprises in producing and processing virgin coconut oil and milk, which can help increase their income.

The FCAs expressed their gratefulness to the DA-PRDP and the Quezon LGU. According to them, they will work hard to maintain and continuously expand their enterprises. Meanwhile, DA-PRPD 4A Deputy Project Director Engr. Redelliza Gruezo assured the FCAs that the DA-PRDP 4A and the DA Regional Field Office Calabarzon (DA-4A) will continue to provide responsive and substantial support for the sustainability of the enterprises and the dairy cattle and virgin coconut oil industry. She also encouraged the LGUs to propose subprojects that may be funded under the DA-PRDP Scale-Up, the expanded version of the DA-PRDP, which will start next year.
