After Aglipay, Cabarroguis, and Diffun, the Provincial Government of Quirino eyes Nagtipunan for another farm-to-market road (FMR) to be funded by the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP).

The joint team of the National Project Coordination Office (NPCO), Project Support Office (PSO), and the Regional Project Coordination Office 2 (RPCO 2) conducted subproject appraisal and review (SPAR) to the Sangbay- Anak-Dibunglin-Tabiit FMR situated in Nagtipunan, Quirino on June 18, 2019.

The FMR, spanning 9.2 kilometers in gross length traverses the vast corn lands, banana plantation, and patches of rice fields in Nagtipunan.

The FMR, according to Anak Barangay Captain Eduardo Bangayan, Jr, would make the transport of rice, corn, peanuts, cassava, and banana easier for the beneficiaries to the trading posts.

“The terrain is rolling to semi-rolling. There are existing paved sections, but under the Philippine Rural Development Project, some will be removed and replaced,” Engr. Edmund Banzali, Roads and Bridges Specialist said.

With Banzali were Engr. Dennis Flores and Mr. Jay Herrera from PSO, Engr. Jonathan Padduyao from (NPCO), Engr. Emilio Andres, Economist, RPCO 2, Engr. Ulysses Viernes, rural infrastructure engineer (RPCO 2 RIE), and technical staff from Quirino Provincial Project Management and Implementing Unit(PPMIU).

“After reviewing the detailed engineering design of this I-BUILD Subproject, we are going to appraise next San Pedro FMR in Maddela, another proposed subproject of the Provincial Government of Quirino,” Engr. Dennis Flores said. (Dr. Ferdinand N. Cortez, RPCO2 InfoACE)
