Date Published: July 19, 2022

The IREAP Component of PRDP Mindanao Cluster together with representatives from different components gathered in Davao City for the PRDP I-REAP Mindanao Cluster Performance Evaluation cum Planning ang Retooling Workshop on July 18-22,2022.

PSO Mindanao I-REAP Component Head Ronnie John Yulo presented the rationale of the activity which will include updates on the completion of the subprojects under the original loan and first additional financing (OL and AF1), discussion on the upcoming second additional financing and European Union co-financed (AF2-EU) subprojects, as well as retooling workshops to keep track of the changes in implementation.

“For the original loan, we have to really finish this as early as possible or not later than end of December so we can now focus on the AF2 and AF2-EU,” said Yulo.

PSO Mindanao Project Director Abel James I. Monteagudo, represented by Deputy Project Director Noel T. Provido welcomed all the participants from the six regions.

DPD Provido added that everyone should not forget the subprojects that were targeted for completion.

“Let us not forget the completion of the remaining subprojects. We have to look into the completion of No Objection Letter 1 compliance as well as the economic aspects and substance of each subject,” said Provido.

NPCO IREAP Alternate Component Head and Supervising Agriculturist Leny G. Pecson in her message encouraged everyone to fast track the subproject implementation especially with the ongoing preparations for the second addition financing and EU Co-financing.

“Let us make ourselves conduits for our PGs to link them with other partners in the industry to make our subprojects sustainable, ” said Pecson. “There are two sides of the coin for our roles here – one for those enterprise subprojects to be approved, and the other to make the completed subprojects sustainable.”

The first day of the five-day long activity focused on revisiting the I-REAP program, project data management, I-REAP cluster updates, workshop on the IREAP implementation Procedures and Processes, and presentations and processing of workshops outputs.
A series of workshops for the IREAP Component will be conducted in the succeeding days of the activity. (Joy M. Montecalvo,PSO Min)
