Llanera, NUEVA ECIJA – With the continuous improvement of the San Felipe – San Nicolas via A. Bonifacio Norte farm-to-market (FMR), residents of Barangay San Felipe and neighboring barangays will soon experience trouble-free and comfortable transportation of farmed products to the nearest market, here.

The FMR, which traverses the barangay of San Felipe, San Nicolas and A. Bonifacio functions as a passage to elevate the local trade and productivity since it provides access to farm land down to market towns making it easier for farmers to sell their produce.

Assigned to supervise the project, I-BUILD Rural Infrastructure Engineer Lester Bacual stated that the transport of agricultural products and goods will notably improve in hard to reach areas of the province upon the improvement of the said FMR.

The FMR has a total cost of P51 million which spans 6.218 kilometers aims to support the onion, vegetables and palay trading of at least 1,183 farmer-beneficiaries here.

Recently, the project acquired a physical accomplishment of 39.27% and is set to be completed this year.

The PRDP continuous to develop FMRs that aims in bringing market towns closer to farmers to boost farming and encourage food production in the country. (Ma. Reina Len Luna, RPCO3 InfoACE)
