DA TURNS OVER PRDP FUNDED FMR TO BENEFICIARIES

The Department of Agriculture (DA) headed by Regional Executive Director Narciso A. Edillo and the Provincial Local Government of Quirino (PLGU) led by Gov. Dakila Carlo Cua spearheaded the inauguration and turn over ceremonies of the 32.40-kilometer Gamis- Calaocan farm-to-market road (FMR) in Saguday, Quirino.

“This is the longest PRDP-funded FMR the PLGU of Quirino has completed. It has 9, 441 project beneficiaries. 124.99 hectares of agricultural land is within its influence area,” Engr. Ireneo Benavides, Provincial Engineer said.

The FMR, which amounts to 118.6 million pesos traverses the towns of Saguday, Aglipay, and Cabarroguis with barangays Gamis, Banuar, Dumabel, Cabugao, Eden, Burgos, Gomez and Calaocan in its road influence area (RIA).

NRJ-Palacian-Ramos and NRJ-Ligaya-Villa Pagaduan in Aglipay; PRJ-Dibibi-Dingasan in Cabarroguis and NRJ-Maria Clara-Gabriela Silang in Diffun are four FMR’s which were earlier turned over to the beneficiaries.

Likewise, two I-REAP subprojects, Quirino Coffee and Quirino Banana Enterprises
were turned over earlier by the PLGU.

On-going subprojects are NRJ-Lusod-Manglad FMR in Maddela and NRJ-Ricarte Sur-Dona Imelda-Magsaysay FMR traversing Cabarroguis and Diffun with a total project cost of 189.5 million pesos.

Meanwhile, awaiting no objection letters (NOL 1) are NRJ-Dungo- San Salvador-Divisoria FMR in Maddela and PRJ-Gundaway-Dona Imelda FMR in Cabarroguis.

The total cost of approved subprojects in Quirino amounts to 592.5 million pesos.

RED Edillo and Gov. Cua also inaugurated the Coffee Processing Center of Diffun Saranay Development Cooperative (DISADECO) in Andres Bonifacio, Diffun, Quirino and the Coffee Shop in Watersport Complex, Provincial Capitol, Cabarroguis. (Dr. Ferdinand N. Cortez, RPCO2 InfoACE)
