DA-PRDP leads inspection of P102-M FMR project

Date Published: September 17, 2020

Iba, ZAMBALES – The Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO 3) in cooperation with the Project Support Office (PSO) of the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) conducted a two-day joint inspection of the P102-million Dirita-San Agustin Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) on September 2-3, 2020 here.

The joint inspection team was led by RPCO 3 I-BUILD Engineer Romel G. Tiangco and PSO I-BUILD Engineer Shiedel Delicano together with Geomapping and Governance GIS Data Officer Engineer Maurice Pineda and RPCO 3 Social and Environmental Safeguards (SES) Associate Prince Roy Cruz.

Engr. Tiangco, tasked to supervise the subproject, said the FMR has recently attained 13.48% in its progress billing, which is a significant increase in its disbursement rate.

Engr Tiangco and the Provincial Project Management and Implementing Unit (PPMIU) technical staff continue to strictly monitor the construction of the FMR to effectively meet its target completion this year.

“The construction of the 10.22-kilometer road here is seen to utilize idle lands for mango, cassava and other vegetables while improving the productivity of residents and farmers in the municipality,” he added.

He also explained the FMR project was strategically placed to reach rural areas as part of DA-PRDP’s agenda to develop and upgrade the transportation and delivery of goods for the agriculture sector.

This FMR project aims to reduce at least 50% from the usually 30-minute travel time while cultivating development in the countryside.

Currently, the FMR has reached 30% in its physical accomplishment. (MA. REINA LEN G. LUNA, RPCO3 InfoACE)
