Toward a more developed, modern, and productive agriculture sector in CALABARZON, the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project Coordination Office (DA-PRDP 4A) continues to encourage local government units (LGUs) and farmers cooperatives and associations (FCAs) to propose subprojects for funding under the DA-PRDP Scale-Up.

The PRDP Scale-Up is the expanded version of the DA-PRDP that aims to improve the efficiency of the food supply chain, ensure the availability of affordable and quality food in the market, and increase the income of farmers and fisherfolks. Jointly funded by the World Bank and the Philippine government, the PRDP Scale-Up will fund and implement infrastructure and enterprise subprojects that promote climate resiliency, rice and corn commodities, and the clustering and consolidation of farmers.

The DA-PRDP 4A met with 17 more LGUs and two FCAs to orient them about the project. Some are already planning to propose subprojects such as farm-to-market roads, potable water systems, trading posts, slaughterhouses, food terminals, integrated swine production and marketing, etc. According to DA-PRDP 4A Project Director Engr. Marcos Aves, Sr. the DA-PRDP 4A, is committed to providing steadfast and substantial support to the LGUs and FCAs that will propose subprojects.

For interested LGUs or FCAs, contact the DA-PRDP 4A at the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office CALABARZON Lipa Agricultural Research and Experiment Station in Brgy. Maraouy, Lipa City, Batangas, or send an e-mail to prdprpco4a@gmail.com. #
