2 Aklan swine enterprises get green light in RPAB review

Two swine enterprises in Aklan were given a go signal after the deliberation conducted by the Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) in Iloilo City on September 5, 2022.

The Swine Production and Marketing Enterprise amounting to PhP 14,974,540.07 including the proponent group equity was proposed by the Yolanda Aklan Reconstruction Programme (YARP) Agriculture Cooperative of Banga, Aklan in District 1 while the Tagororoc Mainuswagong Panimalay Consumers Cooperative of Nabas, Aklan presented the Swine Production and Marketing of Pork Products with a total amount of PhP 12 million for District 2.

The two subprojects which have undergone review were recently approved but are still subject for submission of additional compliances as per recommendations of the board.

Composing the RPAB team who tackled the significant aspects and imparted comments for the enhancement of the business plan are the RPAB members and representatives from various agencies presided by Regional Project Coordination Office 6 (RPCO 6) Deputy Project Director Engr. Moises D. Mana-ay. Other members and representatives of the team are RPAB Member Rebecca Rascon and Regional Director Mary Jade Gonzales of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), representative of Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer Leonor Juliet Lena from Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Danilo Lorilla of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Greg Lopez of Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Engr. Mercedes Sabidong as representative from Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Buen Mondejar from the Regional Agri-Fishery Council (RAFC), and Joel T. Abalayan of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

Also present during the review are the concerned staff of the Regional Project Coordination Office 6 and Provincial Project Management and Implementing Unit (PPMIU) in Aklan namely, Roselyn Relado and Dr. Joseph Lachica.

The subprojects are included under the second additional financing of DA-PRDP amounting to US$280 million retrofitted budget with EUR18.3 million E.U. co-financing grant. The target issuance of No Objection Letter 1 (NOL 1) is upon the compliance of documentary requirements scheduled within the month of September this year. (AGPadilla/InfoACE6)
