The Philippine Rural Development Project Regional Project Coordination Office 1 (PRDP-RPCO1) takes the next step in crafting the Regional Agri-fishery Investment Portfolio (RAFIP) for the Ilocos Region in a three-day workshop held in Baguio City on April 28-30, 2025.

The RAFIP’s contents were identified and drafted based on inputs from local government units, other government agencies, and Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office 1 (DA-RFO1) planners.

The RAFIP is a document that provides a regional perspective on the Provincial Commodity Investment Plans (PCIPs) while also incorporating the DA’s Cluster Development Plan (CDP) for clustering and consolidation. It includes a list of initiatives with the potential for upscaling through clustering and consolidation based on regional analysis.

Once completed, the RAFIP will serve as the foundation for recommendations to PRDP for financing, as well as input to the DA regional planning and budgeting process to suggest areas of investment for DA or other funding agencies.

An initial consultation among stakeholders with regard to the purpose and relevance of RAFIP to the Ilocos Region’s agriculture industry was also held in early April.
