RPCO3 lays disbursement, subprojects’ targets for 2022 during mid-year assessment

Date Published: July 23, 2022

To evaluate the disbursement and the subprojects’ status in the region, the DA-PRDP Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO) 3 led the Mid-Year Assessment with the Provincial, City, and Municipal Project Management and Implementation Units (P/C/MPMIU) in the region last July 6, 2022 in Subic, Zambales.

The activity aims to assess the overall implementation of the PRDP sub-projects in Central Luzon and to identify challenges encountered during the implementation. P/C/MPMIU from the region were also invited in the said activity to present the status of their respective subprojects and to raise their concerns and suggest inputs to strengthen the implementation of PRDP interventions for our farmers in rural communities.

RPCO 3 Action Officer Maricel L. Dullas presented status and accomplishments of each component of the DA-PRDP as of June 2022. For the I-PLAN component, Dullas enumerated the endorsed priority commodities by province for PRPD funding and discussed the status of the Value Chain Analysis (VCAs) and Provincial Commodity Investment Plan (PCIP) updating.

As for the I-BUILD and I-REAP components, their respective subprojects’ physical and financial accomplishments were given and their catch-up plans to achieve their targets for this year were also shown.

On the other hand, representatives from the P/C/PMIUs reported the status of the proposed, ongoing, and completed subprojects within the first half of 2022. An open forum was also held where the participants were able to share their concerns and challenges encountered during the implementation and their best practices that would help future similar projects. In the end, with the help of the RPCO 3 staff, they were able to identify the problems that will serve as additional points of improvement on the implementation of PRDP subprojects in the region.

To conclude the activity, I-BUILD Component Head Elmer Tubig left behind the five ways in harmonizing efforts to hasten the implementation of subprojects: proper planning, coordination, organization, direction, and control. (By: Ram Bill Bautista, RPCO3)
