RPAB-RPCO10 approves 8 infra subprojects

The Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) approved a total of eight subprojects under the Intensified Building-Up of Infrastructure and Logistics Development (IBUILD) of the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project 10 (DA-PRDP 10) on February 18, 2021 in this city.

The said subprojects has a total estimated cost of Php 507,491,569.52. This includes the Construction of Warehouse and Solar Dryer in Barangay Malingao and in Barangay Dalama both in Tubod, Lanao del Norte with an estimated amount of Php 8,832,475.46 each and the Construction of Warehouse and Solar Dryer in Barangay Pendulunan and in Barangay Abaga both in Lala, Lanao del Norte with an estimated cost of Php 8,166,045.52 each.

Moreso, RPAB also gave the go signal for the Construction of Double ‘A’ Slaughterhouses in Barangay Alipuaton in Salay, Misamis Oriental and Barangay Pinamaloy in Don Carlos, Bukidnon with an estimated cost of Php 51,660,938.43 and Php 49,999,634.65, respectively; Construction of Double ‘A’ Slaughterhouse with Cold Storage in Barangay Aromahon in Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental with an estimated worth of Php 80M; and the Construction of Triple ‘A’ Slaughterhouse in Barangay Tangkulan in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon with an estimated cost of Php 300M.

Meanwhile, DA-10 Regional Executive Director and DA-PRDP 10 Project Director, Carlene C. Collado reminded the proponents of slaughterhouses to take into consideration the challenges besetting the livestock industry in the region. He further encouraged to ensure that the proposed slaughterhouses will guarantee proper handling and protection of the livestock and to incorporate in the project the bio-security measures for safe and lasting slaughterhouse businesses. “Let us work together to protect our livestock industry,” Collado said.

The approved proposals will be endorsed to the Project Support Office (PSO) Mindanao for further review. This will then be endorsed to the National Project Coordination Office (NPCO) for the issuance of No Objection Letter 1 (NOL 1) prior to the project implementation.

The two-day project proposal deliberation was presided by Director Carlene C. Collado with members Prof. Edgardo Layug of Regional Agriculture and Fishery Council (RAFC), Lourdes Enjambre of Mindanao Development Authority, Engr. Rubie Cuevas and Architect Anne L. Pabito representing the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Tranquilino Roa of National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), Engr. Oscar Baldoman of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), Analee Salarda representing the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and Jake Salvador Sepe, DVM from the Bureau of Animal Industry.
