IGPMC SUPPLIES 11,000 BAGS OF RICE TO MLGU CORDON FOR PANDEMIC SUBSIDY

Isabela Grains Production and Marketing Cooperative based in Roxas, Isabela has delivered 11,000 bags of aromatic and pigmented rice to the Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) of Cordon, Isabela Province to be distributed to the residents heavily affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

“The IGPMC is a PRDP assisted cooperative. Its warehouse in Roxas which amounts to 8. 36 million pesos is already 100% completed,” Ms. Sally Valencia, Isabela PRDP Action Officer said.

“We have undergone the usual procurement process of the MLGU and we have already delivered the first half of the purchased whole which is 5,500 cavans the other day. We are now delivering the other 5,500 today,” Ms. Alicia Dominguez, IGPMC General Manager said.

“The rice will be distributed to the residents in Cordon who did not qualify in the Social Amelioration Program or SAP,” Mr. Nilo Aquino, I-REAP Business Development Officer said.

Aquino said it is in a moment like this that the spirit of cooperativism is felt. He recalled Buenavista Multi-purpose Cooperative (BMPC), Ramon-Cordon Farmers MPC (RAMFARMCO), and San Agustin Dairy Cooperative (SADACO) in their own ways earlier have helped less fortunate families distressed by the quarantine. (Ferdinand N Cortez, RPCO2 InfoACE Unit)
