I-REAP Component facilitates workshops on Simple Accounting and EMO Drafting

Staying true to its objective to provide strengthening and capability trainings to its beneficiaries, the PRDP RPCO 3 I-REAP Component simultaneously held a training and workshop on Simple Bookkeeping and Accounting for 4th Batch and the Drafting of Enterprise Manual of Operations (EMO) for Regular IREAP Subprojects in Angeles, Pampanga.

The accounting workshop is a three-day activity which was held in September 19-21, 2018.

The objectives of the accounting workshop are to teach farmers to become entrepreneurs, to be familiar with bookkeeping & accounting, to appreciate and know the importance of record keeping to serve as basis for better decisions, and to provide guidelines on preparing simple financial statements.

Members of supported proponent groups from the province of Bataan, Bulacan and Zambales were the participants of the accounting training-workshop.

Dr. Edilyn D. Lansangan, a graduate of Agribusiness Management and a college instructor from Central Luzon State University served as the resource speaker of the training-workshop.

Basic accounting concepts such as; Journaling, posting, trial balance, financial statements and financial analysis were explained. Group and individual activities were facilitated to ensure that the participants can apply the concepts taught.

Meanwhile, EMO Drafting workshop was held for two days from September 19-20, 2018.

The EMO workshop aims to help proponent groups to draft their manual of operations, which will serve as their guide in the implementation of their enterprises.

The participants of this workshop are the five proponent groups of regular I-REAP Subprojects from Bulacan, Zambales, Cuyapo, Carranglan and General Tinio.

Sections of the Operations Manual from its Introduction up to the Sustainability of the Component where meticulously drafted by the participants with the help of the assigned I-REAP personnel.

Through the various trainings and workshops provided by I-REAP component, the sustainability and continuous growth of the proponent groups and their enterprises is ensured. (Kayla Lingad, RPCO3 InfoACE)
