MACABEBE – The Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) strictly monitors the 2.68-kilometer San Jose – Castuli Farm to Market Road (FMR), here to meet its target completion this year.

Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO 3) led by Action Officer Gil G. David together with Rural Infrastructure Engineer Jun Clinton Gonzales and Geomapping and Governance Unit GIS Data Officer Engineer Maurice Pineda arrived in Macabebe on July 17, 2020 to conduct a site inspection of the subproject.

According to Engr. Gonzales, the P47-million FMR project will level-up the productivity in rural communities and aid in supporting fishery production while uplifting the living condition of the project beneficiaries specifically the fisher folks in the area.

The team witnessed the construction methodologies explained by the contractor in installing grouted riprap along the flooded area to protect the subproject from scour and erosion.

It can be remembered that the improvement of the road is intended to upgrade dilapidated and flooded concrete and gravel path for safe and economical access.

Relative to road development, at least 4,896 population beneficiaries will soon enjoy hassle-free and reduced travel time from their fishponds down to the market.

To date, the subproject has achieved 30.62% on its physical accomplishment. (MA. REINA LEN G. LUNA, RPCO3 InfoACE)
