DA-PRDP INSPECTS P102-M FMR IN ZAMBALES

Iba, ZAMBALES – The Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO 3) of the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) has conducted a site inspection of the P102-M Dirita – San Agustin Farm to Market Road (FMR) on July 2-3, 2020 here.

According to Rural Infrastructure Engineer Romel Garcia Tiangco, the FMR has attained 16.32% on its physical accomplishment.

Engr. Tiangco said the on-going improvement of the FMR is envisioned to optimize utilization of idle lands for mango, cassava and rice to increase by one hectare annually.

“At least 1,267 households are expected to benefit from this road network that connects the neighboring farmlands to the market,” Engr. Tiangco added.

He also said that the on-going construction of the project will provide employment opportunities to at least 58 unskilled workers and around 44 qualified skilled workers within the barangays.

The subproject resumed its operation last June 16, 2020 since the Local Government Unit (LGU) has requested for Medical Certificates from contractors and workers. Only those who tested negative for COVID-19 were allowed to return to work.

Precautionary measures are strictly observed to prevent the spread of virus among workers during construction.
