DA-PRDP ADDRESSES SES CONCERNS TO CARRANGLAN EXEC

Carranglan, NUEVA ECIJA –The Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO 3) addressed construction and social and environmental safeguards (SES) concerns to the local executives for the improvement of R.A. Padilla – Bunga Farm-to-Market Road (FMR), here.

The consultative meeting was attended by Local Chief Executive Mary Abad together with Municipal Project Management and Implementing Unit (MPMIU) Head Greg Alputan, Rural Infrastructure Engineer Bon Alexis Guatato, SES Officer Jes Surla and Geomapping and Governance Unit GIS Data Officer Engineer Maurice Pineda held on July 23, 2020 at the Municipal Hall, here.

The meeting was intended to tackle quality and workmanship issues on-site particularly the actions taken on the rights of the structure’s owner that are to be affected and safeguards compliances on the construction of the FMR as a whole.

Along with the consultative meeting, a site inspection was also conducted on the same day.

Funded by the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP), the on-going subproject is bounded in the northern part of Nueva Vizcaya, in the west by Pangasinan, and in the south by the municipalities of Lupao, Pantabangan and San Jose City.

In a brief interview with Engr. Guatato, he stated the P77-million FMR project is intended to upgrade substandard gravel road that is safe and resilient to climate change to provide better economic access which will be supportive to agricultural production.

Meanwhile, SES Officer Surla pointed out the importance of adhering to DA-PRDP’s policy and guidelines to guarantee quality assurance for an effective project implementation in the municipality.

The construction of the 7-kilometer FMR commenced in January and is set to be completed in November of this year. (MA. REINA LEN G. LUNA, RPCO3 InfoACE)
