DA-PRDP 10 holds RAEB Workshop

The Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project 10 (DA-PRDP 10), through the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Unit, conducted a workshop on Rapid Appraisal of Emerging Benefits (RAEB) on February 12-14, 2020 in Cagayan de Oro City.  

RAEB is an evaluation tool designed to assess the impact of the implemented subprojects especially on the emerging benefits brought to the community. This is conducted a year after its project turned over. 

 OIC-Regional Director of Department of Agriculture – 10 and Project Head of PRDP – 10 Carlene C. Collado, CPA hoped that through this workshop, the participants will understand their roles in order to gauge the effectiveness of the projects. “We have to re-visit the given interventions and monitor if the project has changed the lives of the beneficiaries.” He further hope that the objectives of the project is attained.

 On the other hand,  M&E Unit Head of DA-PRDP 10 Lana Mae S. Racines, said that “The importance of conducting this workshop is to emphasize the roles and responsibilities of the respective key players in administering the interviews and questionnaires during RAEB in order to draw honest answers from the beneficiaries of the project. This year, subject for RAEB are the Potable Water System (PWS) under the other infra and the IREAP subprojects.  Racines also emphasized that PRDP is now looking after the outcomes of the implemented subprojects through result based evaluation.  

During the workshop, the questionnaires were presented and reviewed and simplified to ensure understanding of the interviewee, as such the expected output can be attained.    

Guiding the participants in the said workshop are National Project Coordinating Office M&E Specialist Marilyn Platero and Project Support Office M&E Unit Head Joseph Rico. Serving as enumerators during the RAEB are the DA PRDP staff of region 10.#Cyrus Seraspe
