The Improvement of Pinukpuk Junction-Pakawit-Binansagan Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) in Pinukpuk, Kalinga is set to commence as the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) Scale-Up granted the green light for contract awarding to the winning bidder.

The issuance of the No Objection Letter 2 (NOL2) officially authorizes the subproject to proceed, with Upland Construction and Engineering Services securing the contract valued at PhP256.41 million.

This subproject, proposed in support of the local coffee and rice industries, will cover a span of 12.508 kilometers. Once completed, it is expected to benefit 498 households, encompassing 2,164 individuals (1,092 male and 1,072 female) across the area.

The subproject will directly connect road influence barangays to the national road leading to the market center in Tabuk City. It will also link these areas to another national road heading towards Tuao, Cagayan. The enhanced infrastructure is anticipated to significantly boost the efficiency of local agricultural trade and support the community’s economic development.

As part of the PRDP implementation process, a pre-construction conference will soon be conducted to discuss specific implementation guidelines and processes including the requirements for disbursement, among others.
