2 cooperatives in Cagayan Valley to clinch business plans

Wigan Settlers Multi-purpose Cooperative (WSMPC) located in Cordon, Isabela and Tiblak-Langak Farmers Association Inc, (TLFAI) based in Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya will finalize their business plans today in preparation for the Joint Technical Review.

“It is hoped that the business plans will already be polished up to Friday. The proponent groups have started with the Financing Modality. Operational Plan will follow,” Ms. Emilyne A. Baculi, I-REAP Business Development Officer (BDO) said.

“A business plan is a document that describes the processes of an enterprise and it is a management tool that recounts the business objectives and to propose how these objectives will be attained within a specific period of time,” Mr. Nilo Aquino, I-REAP BDO explained.

Aquino, the main facilitator will discuss Financial Management, Financial Statement Preparation, Economic Impact, Competitor Assessment, Operational and Marketing Plans to fast track the finalization of the business plans.

“The enterprises need to finish all documentary requirements per Philippine Rural Development Project’s guidelines. We expect that everything will be complete after four days. The Social and Environmental Safeguards, Procurement, and Finance Units including the I-BUILD Component will come in later,” Engr. Oscar Andrada, I-REAP Enterprise Development and Marketing Specialist (EDMS) said.

Meanwhile, Engr. Monico Castro, the new Southern Cagayan Research Center (SCRC) Manager warmly welcomed the officers of the cooperatives.

“We welcome everyone here in SCRC. For the members of the PPMIU and the officers of cooperatives, maybe it is your first time to be here. You can concentrate on your business plans,” he said.

Castro succeeded Engr. Rodolfo Bayucan who retired last month.

Representatives from the Regional Project Coordination Office 2 (RPCO 2) are Engr. Oscar Andrada, Mr. Nilo Aquino, Engr. Jayson Tee, Engr. Emilio Andres, Ms. Julie Ann Porwell, Engr. Beverly Tamayao, Ms. Emilyne A. Baculi, Ms. Luz Franchesca Palparan and Dr. Ferdinand N. Cortez.

Members of the Isabela Provincial Project Management and Implementing Unit (PPMIU) present in the business planning are Ms. Sally Valencia, Dr. Ressie M. Viloria, Dr. Helen Sevilla and Ms. Remilda Salas.
